Moulton

Bikes

Moulton bicycles will become an indispensable assistant for anyone who appreciates speed and quality when cycling. The comfort, functionality of use and high quality of each model make Moulton products a full-fledged representative of the premium brand.

About the brand and its main advantages

Conceptual style since 1962

Moulton is an English bicycle manufacturer based in Bradford-upon-Avon, Wiltshire. The company was founded in 1962 Alex Moulton, who developed suspension systems made of hydroplast and rubber cones for the BMC Mini car. Alex Moulton often designed his own components, such as bushings, to achieve perfect functionality and reliability.

Moulton bikes feature an unconventional frame design, small wheels, and front and rear suspension.

The design is thought out to the smallest detail

Moulton was one of the first to use full suspension on his bikes back in the 1960s. This makes it possible to compensate for the roughness of the road, providing high comfort and control. Some models use unique engineering solutions, such as rubber cones in the suspension, similar to those used in the Mini car.

Unlike the traditional diamond-shaped frame, Moulton uses a multi-tube spaceframe, which provides high rigidity and strength with minimal weight. Hand soldering and the use of high-quality alloys such as Reynolds 525 and Columbus Spirit guarantee durability.

All models are created very carefully: a comfortable seat designed for any gender and age, a variety of speed modes, a comfortable and reliable frame. These models are designed so that those who decide to buy Moulton can fully experience the quality and efficiency of use.

Slim 20-inch wheels with Schwalbe Durano tires

20-inch wheels with Schwalbe Durano tires are one of the most common and effective combinations for Moulton bicycles. Moulton is known for its concept of small wheels with full suspension, and thin, high-quality tires like the Schwalbe Durano maximize the potential of this design.

The Schwalbe Durano tires used on Moulton require high pressure (from 6 to 8 atmospheres), which provides low rolling resistance and good puncture protection. The composition of Schwalbe Durano rubber is designed for long-term use, which makes them ideal for training and daily trips.

Hydrolastic rear suspension
The suspension unit, designed by Moulton, combines the smooth action of a rubber spring with adjustable hydraulic damping to enhance comfort and stability on the road.
Flexitor Front Fork
The Flexitor front fork has a geometry that prevents sagging. Four elements using rubber during torsion eliminate lubrication and wear, as well as sticking. This provides unprecedented isolation while riding and a unique smooth ride.
Full suspension
All Moulton bikes are equipped with front and rear suspension. The suspension system developed by Alex Moulton, who worked on the suspension of the Mini car, provides exceptional comfort on uneven terrain, reduces cyclist fatigue and improves traction.
Rigid frame
The unique Space Frame provides high rigidity, which allows efficient transfer of pedaling energy and ensures precise control. The frames are handmade from high-quality steel alloys such as Columbus Spirit and Reynolds.
Collapsible structure
Most Moulton models have a collapsible frame, which makes them convenient for transportation and storage. Some models, such as the new series, can be disassembled into even smaller parts, which allows them to be transported in a special case, for example, on an airplane.

Features

20" Wheels

Small wheels are at the heart of the Moulton concept. Strong and light, they have a low moment of inertia so acceleration is quicker and handling is nimble and fast. Cycling requires less effort thanks to the low aerodynamic drag of the small wheels.

Hydrolastic Rear Suspension

The Moulton Hydrolastic suspension unit combines the smooth action of the rubber spring with adjustable fluid damping for improved comfort and road holding.

Flexitor Front Fork

Flexitor front fork feature anti-dive geometry. The four Flexitors, using rubber in torsion, eliminate lubrication and wear, and have no stiction. This provides unparalleled shock isolation and a uniquely silky ride.

Polished Stainless Steel

This model features a hand-polished stainless steel frame. The aerospace stainless steel is strong and light while also providing an exquisite appearance.

Leading Link Front Fork

A separate floating front fork stirrup is used to keep unsprung weight to a minimum. Stainless steel leading links pivot on composite bearings. And damping is by rigid polyurethane coulomb discs. Damping and ride height are adjustable. No routine maintenance required.
