AVENTON

MOVE BEYOND THE EXPECTED

Aventon electric bikes for riders who expect more from a bicycle.

The motor is not here to do all the work. Its job is to open up more possibilities—without demanding race-level fitness or taking away the feeling of riding a bike.

ABOUT THE BRAND / 01

From fixed gear—
to a new kind of cycling.

Today, Aventon is known first and foremost for electric bikes. But the brand began in a very different world— with fixed gears, criterium racing, and frames built around speed.

In 2013, Aventon introduced the Mataró—a lightweight, aerodynamic frame built for city riding and racing. Two years later, the brand’s team won the Red Hook Crit in Barcelona, taking the Aventon name far beyond the local fixed-gear scene.

The turning point came in 2018 with the Pace 500, Aventon’s first electric bike. From there, the company began evolving from a niche cycling brand into one that was ready to rethink the conventional e-bike.

The original idea was never discarded. Today’s bikes are still designed to be more than transport: they have character, considered geometry, and a clear purpose.

Today, Aventon brings together the familiar feel of a bicycle, proprietary drive systems, and connected technology.

AVENTON INNOVATION / 02

Inside Aventon’s smart system.

The latest Aventon bikes are built around more than a motor and an app. The system combines the central ACU, proprietary drive units, and connected features—from ride tuning and automatic shifting to GPS, theft deterrence, and over-the-air updates.

01

ACU — central control unit

ACU stands for Aventon Control Unit. It is the electronic foundation of Aventon’s smart ecosystem, connecting drive-system control, pedal assistance, the app, and the bike’s connected features. ACU powers GPS and 4G connectivity, remote notifications, integrated security, geofencing, and firmware updates. It is not a single feature, but the platform that supports the rest of the system.

THE HEART OF THE BIKE

Ultro X — Aventon mid-drive system

Ultro X sits at the bottom bracket and sends power through the bicycle drivetrain. This allows the motor to use the selected gear together with the rider, matching assistance more closely to cadence and pedal load. On Current, the motor delivers 110 Nm in standard modes and up to 120 Nm in Boost Mode. Peak output reaches 850 W, with assistance of up to 500% of the rider’s input.

SMART SECURITY

Smart Security — security system

This is not a single feature, but a set of connected tools. A passcode prevents the system from starting, while the integrated electronic lock can immobilize the rear wheel or center stand, depending on the model. ACU also monitors unusual movement and can trigger an alarm and send a notification to the owner. It adds another layer of protection, although Aventon still recommends using a physical lock for longer stops.

CONNECTIVITY + CONTROL

Connected tracking and remote control

Built-in GPS determines the bike’s location, while 4G sends data to the app and enables remote notifications. The app can also define a geofence beyond which the bike should not be used. GPS normally draws power from the main battery. With Lost Mode enabled, tracking continues from the ACU’s internal battery even after the bike is switched off. Remote services and connectivity terms may vary by region.

INTELLIGENT RIDE

Electronic shifting and updateable firmware

E-Shift replaces a mechanical cable with electronic control: the command from the button is sent to the shifting mechanism through the ACU. AutoShift uses power, cadence, and speed data to select the appropriate gear automatically. Over-the-air updates allow Aventon to update the bike’s firmware remotely. Features such as Boost Mode, Sensor Switch, and Uphill Start Assist can be added or refined without a mandatory workshop visit.

CHOOSE YOUR RIDE / 03

From lightweight city riding
to a full-suspension eMTB.

Soltera, Pace, Level, and Current differ in more than styling and component level. Each has its own riding position, drive system, geometry, and purpose—from short city trips to full trail riding.

01 / SOLTERA 3 ADV

A lightweight city e-bike with a belt drive

Soltera is built around simplicity and low weight. It uses a single-speed setup, a rigid fork, and a Gates belt instead of a conventional chain. The belt needs no lubrication, does not rust, and requires less maintenance. A 250 W motor sits in the rear hub, while a torque sensor adjusts assistance according to pedal input. The bike weighs about 16.7 kg. It is designed for city riding, short trips, and riders who do not need a complex drivetrain.

02 / PACE 5 REC

A comfort-focused city cruiser

Pace is designed for a relaxed, upright riding position. The low-step frame makes mounting and stopping easier, while the swept-back handlebar, adjustable stem, and wide saddle reduce strain on the back and hands. A 750 W motor is integrated into the rear hub. Pace is made for relaxed rides, cycle paths, and everyday trips where comfort and simplicity matter more than an aggressive riding position.

03 / LEVEL 4

An urban platform in REC and ADV versions

Level is a versatile urban platform with a suspension fork and equipment for everyday riding. The REC version uses a 750 W rear-hub motor with 80 Nm of torque, an eight-speed drivetrain, and regenerative braking that returns some energy to the battery. Level 4 ADV takes a different approach, pairing the 100 Nm Ultro S mid-drive with a 10-speed Shimano CUES drivetrain, electronic shifting, and AutoShift. REC prioritizes straightforward practicality; ADV delivers more natural power and finer control over changing terrain.

04 / CURRENT

A trail-ready electric mountain bike

Current was designed as an eMTB from the start. It combines 140 mm of rear travel, a 150 mm fork, modern trail geometry, and an Ultro X motor with up to 120 Nm of torque. The system also includes motor tuning, wheel-lift control, a touchscreen display, and Air Time Tracking. EXP adds a carbon front triangle and higher-level components, while ADV uses an aluminum frame and a more accessible specification.

AIR TIME / 04

Jump telemetry

Air Time Tracking is built into Aventon Current. The system detects when the bike leaves the ground and records jump data: the number of attempts, time in the air, and distance traveled during the jump. After a ride, the data can be used to compare repeated runs and track progress on familiar lines. The feature does not judge technique or explain how to jump safely; it simply turns individual moments on the trail into measurable data. Aventon presents Air Time Tracking as a tool for observing rider progress.

PRODUCT TIERS / 05

REC. ADV. EXP.

REC, ADV, and EXP are specification levels within Aventon model families. They do not represent one identical component package across every bike; the exact differences depend on the model. The names describe the general direction—from straightforward everyday use to lighter, more precise components.

01 REC

The essential configuration

REC stands for Recreation. These versions focus on intuitive control, a comfortable riding position, and proven components without unnecessary complexity. Typically, that means a hub motor, a practical mechanical drivetrain, and equipment designed for relaxed rides, short trips, and everyday use. REC is not a stripped-down bike; it is the most direct way to access the model’s core capabilities.

RECREATION / EVERYDAY
02 ADV

Components that change the character of the bike

ADV stands for Adventure. Here, the upgrades affect not only the component list, but the way the bike feels on the move. Depending on the model, ADV may add a mid-drive motor in place of a hub drive, a larger battery, a more capable drivetrain, electronic shifting, or a longer-travel fork. These bikes are intended for longer routes, frequent riding, and varied surfaces.

ADVENTURE / VERSATILITY
03 EXP

The highest specification level

EXP stands for Expedition. Power and the basic bike architecture may remain similar to ADV, while materials and component level move further up. For example, Current EXP adds a carbon front triangle, higher-performance suspension, and a wireless SRAM drivetrain. The result is a lighter bike with more precise handling and better control under high loads.

EXPEDITION / REFINEMENT

AVENTON:MYRIDE APP / 06

The ride ends.
The connection stays.

Aventon:MyRide is the app for tuning the bike, recording rides, and managing connected features. The available tools depend on the model: standard bikes share data through the display, while ACU-equipped models also support GPS, remote connectivity, and Smart Security.

The bike becomes part of one connected digital system, and the app carries it beyond the ride.

  • 01
Bike control The app shows connection status, provides access to available assistance settings, and lets you tune the bike’s behavior. On compatible models, it also manages Ride Tune, speed limits, and security features.
  • 02
Ride recording The app combines bike and GPS data to save route, distance, time, and speed. Rides remain in your history for comparison and can be synchronized with supported fitness services.
  • 03
Connected security On ACU-equipped bikes, the app shows location, lets you define a geofence, and sends alerts for unusual movement. Lost Mode continues GPS tracking from the ACU’s internal battery after the bike is switched off.
  • 04
System updates The bike receives OTA firmware updates through the app. Aventon uses them not only for fixes, but also to add features such as Boost Mode, Sensor Switch, and Uphill Start Assist.
